IRS WATCHING ALL ONLINE ACTIVITIES...
The IRS may be watching your online activities — including what you post on social media sites, what you sell online, even what you write in emails and text messages.
Some tax experts and civil liberties groups are disturbed by what they call the agency's secretive practices. Taxpayers know little about how it uses big data and "robo-audits."
"It's well-known in the tax community, but not many people outside of it are aware of this big expansion of data and computer use," Edward Zelinsky, a tax expert at Cardozo Law School and Yale Law School, told U.S. News & World Report.
Forbes Columnist: ‘Who the Hell Cleared This?’
"I am sure people will be concerned about the use of personal information on databases in government, and those concerns are well-taken."
Anything you do or say on the Internet can be used against you in IRS enforcement actions, he stressed.
The IRS spent about $1 billion in its recent data-mining modernization.
As a result, the agency's is rolling out an effort to deploy sophisticated data-matching and pattern-recognition technology, and match up taxpayer returns with third-party information, according to U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George.
The IRS is collecting massive amounts of data, tracking Internet users' online movements, and using Social Security numbers, health records, credit card transactions and other information that private companies cannot obtain, according to U.S. News.
The IRS Criminal Tax Division has long believed that it can read your emails without a warrant, said American Civil Liberties Union staff attorney Nathan Freed Wessler, citing IRS documents. The ACLU examined 247 pages of IRS records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request to learn if the IRS obtains search warrants before reading emails, texts, and other digital communications.
"So does the IRS always get a warrant?" Wessler wrote in an ACLU blog post.
"Unfortunately, while the documents we have obtained do not answer this question point blank, they suggest otherwise."
The agency should be upfront about its policies and obtain warrants, he argued, saying the federal law on email access is hopelessly outdated.
"Let's hope you never end up on the wrong end of an IRS criminal tax investigation. But if you do, you should be able to trust that the IRS will obey the Fourth Amendment when it seeks the contents of your private emails."
The Sixth Circuit Court Appeals Court in United States v. Warshak ruled that the IRS must obtain a warrant to read private emails, but the IRS has not said if it now obtains warrants everywhere or only in the Sixth Circuit.

Global Warming prevents Nome Alaska fuel delivery
Global Warming prevents fuel delivery…
Photo credit: AP | The Coast Guard Cutter Healy escorts the Russian-flagged tanker Renda 250 miles south of Nome Friday Jan. 6, 2012. The vessels are transiting through ice up to five-feet thick in this area. The 370-foot tanker Renda will have to go through more than 300 miles of sea ice to get to Nome, a city of about 3,500 people on the western Alaska coastline that did not get its last pre-winter fuel delivery because of a massive storm. If the delivery of diesel fuel and unleaded gasoline is not made, the city likely will run short of fuel supplies before another barge delivery can be made in spring. Russian Tanker Completes Repairs, Resumes Nome Fuel Delivery
January 05, 2012|By Rhonda McBride and Chris Klint | Channel 2 News
ANCHORAGE, Alaska —
A Russian tanker is once again headed for the iced-in port of Nome after taking on all available unleaded gasoline at Dutch Harbor as cargo, then returning there for minor engine repairs.
Vitus Marine LLC, the company that contracted the Renda on behalf of Bonanza Fuel, says the ship was repaired at anchor Wednesday evening, just outside of Dutch Harbor at Broad Bay.
"It was better to have it anchor and have an assist tug along," said Mark Smith, Vitus Marine’s CEO.
According to supply and logistics manager Michail Shestakov, the ship was having problems with an engine exhaust valve that required shutting down the engines. It was determined that it was safer to return to Dutch Harbor to replace the part.
Smith said the part was replaced ahead of schedule, and the Renda departed Dutch Harbor before midnight.
Shestakov told Channel 2 that the Coast Guard icebreaker Healy is traveling about four nautical miles ahead of the Renda, which is forging ahead into strong northerly winds.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – A Coast Guard icebreaker is cutting a path through icy seas for a Russian tanker carrying much-needed fuel for the iced-in Alaska city of Nome.
The 370-foot ship, hauling more than 1.3 million gallons of fuel, is scheduled to arrive later Monday or Tuesday. It was less than 190 miles away on Saturday.
Video and still photo images released by the Coast Guard show the two vessels moving steadily through ice jammed seas.
"They're navigating through ice right now, taking a direct route for now," said Jason Evans, the CEO of Sitnasuak Native Corp, one of the companies undertaking the delivery. "They considered going through patches where there might be thinner ice, but determined that that would have taken them on a longer route."
The city of about 3,500 people on the western Alaska coastline normally gets fuel by barge. But it didn't get its last pre-winter fuel delivery because of a massive storm and it could run out of crucial supplies before spring.
The Russian tanker came upon ice about a foot thick very early Friday near Nunivak Island, a large island in the eastern Bering Sea, the Coast Guard said.
The tanker is being shepherded by the Healy, the Coast Guard's only functioning icebreaker — a ship of special design with a reinforced hull made to move through ice.
"It's going basically as planned," Evans said.
If the mission is successful, it will be the first time petroleum products have been delivered by sea to a Western Alaska community in winter.
Sitnasuak officials have said they settled on the Russian tanker delivery plan after determining it would be much less expensive and more practical than flying fuel into Nome. The vessel, which is certified to travel through ice 4 feet thick for long distances, normally delivers fuel to communities in the Russian Far East. The ice is more than feet in places...

After our sun was born in Orion and the planets were formed we drifted out into the cold of space and Earth and Mars froze up for a billion years known as the Huronian glaciation where mile deep sheets of ice covered the oceans and there was a five-mile deep coating of ice on the single continent. Since we were born in Orion the iron in your blood, the calcium in your bones and other elements all came out of Orion. That makes you an Orionian. Most everything that makes up your third dimensional realty came out of Orion...
We got captured by Sirius A and B. The incoming light from Sirius B putting out more than 100 time the invisible UV of our sun was the only thing that could possibly break through early Earth's 750 pound per square inch atmosphere that was over 3,000 miles deep. There was no way the sun could ever make coal 100-feet thick and limestone 12,500 fee thick during the Carboniferous Era when the air pressure was still around 300 PSI.
It was the light from little Sirius B that made most of your coal, oil and limestone and released free oxygen for you to breathe. It took our atmosphere down 50% and laid it down as coal, oil and limestone (calcium carbonate). The energy that makes your car go down the road came from Sirius B and not the sun...
We have lost 98% of the air on this planet and 98% of the intelligence. There were several ancient advanced races that got off the planet and did something. It looks like we won't make it...
The ice Ages began about three-million years ago. Prior to that Earth had an average temperature of around 60 degrees Fahrenheit for 700+ million years and no Ice Caps.
Al gore made millions selling phony carbon credits to big corporations. The average global temperature is falling not rising. Al gore made millions selling phony carbon credits to big corporations.
Note how the Ice Ages were much shorter 400-thousand years ago. After the Banard's Loop explosion that kicked three-two-solar-mass stars out of Orion we (our sun) got booted out into an elliptical orbit around Sirius A and B.
Earth is still in the Ice Age withe average global temperatures of 32 degree Fahrenheit. The Ice Age cycle began three-million years ago after the Banard's Loop Explosion between us and Orion. You can see that on the 6-million year graph below. Our sun lost its tractor beam with Sirius B and we started making elliptical orbits. Now we go out to nine light years and practically stop. right now we are are at 8 light years and heading back at 7.5 kilometer per second. Read: COSMOLOGICAL ICE AGES by me, Henry Kroll. Note the beginning of the Ice Age cycle about 3-million years ago after the Banard's Loop explosion that kicked three two-solar mass stars out of Orion. After that event Earth had ice caps for the first time in 750-million years. Prior to that Earth was in the billion-year Huronian Glaciation with average global temperatures of -150 degrees F.
