PhD's flippen burgers...

Jobs Flat/Down
Not too surprising, the new report on the unemployment rate is just out and it's bound to become a political football sometime today...since it is not as good as what had been expected:
"Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 163,000 in July, and the unemployment rate was essentially unchanged at 8.3 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment rose in professional and business services, food services and drinking places, and manufacturing.
(G notes: Essentially? Look: it was 8.2% unemployment last month, so it got worse. Labor participation rate dopped another tenth, too...)
Household Survey Data
Both the number of unemployed persons (12.8 million) and the unemployment rate (8.3 percent) were essentially unchanged in July. Both measures have shown little movement thus far in 2012. (See table A-1.)
Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rate for Hispanics (10.3 percent) edged down in July, while the rates for adult men (7.7 percent), adult women (7.5 percent), teenagers (23.8 percent), whites (7.4 percent), and blacks (14.1 percent) showed little or no change.
The jobless rate for Asians was 6.2 percent in July (not seasonally adjusted), little changed from a year earlier. (See tables A-1, A-2, and A-3.) In July, the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks and over) was little changed at 5.2 million. These individuals accounted for 40.7 percent of the unemployed. "
All the happy talk aside, the PhD's flipping burgers index (U6, alternative measures of labor underutilization) was up a tenth to 15.2% not adjusted. And the CES Birth/Death model, which estimates jobs into existence added 52,000 of the 163,000 new jobs this month.
Did I mention that another 150,000 people just "disappeared" from the labor force? Or that the acutal number of people holding jobs was down 195,000 for the month-on month comparison?
March to War Notes
Thursday's resignation of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan should be a great big sign on the road to war in the Middle East, which as we pointed out to Peoplenomics readers recently, should come during the Olympics if an Argentinian seer/prophet type was right in his artwork.
That said, today's headlines are full of aftermath including the Iranian press operation saying "Russia blames US for Annan resignation as envoy for Syria crisis."
More worrisome is that the UK is planning to step up support of anti Assad forces, since Syria (with Russian coaching) has apparently kicked butt in Aleppo.
Oh, speaking of which, one of our sources in the oil patch sent us some pretty damn interesting background on how things are on the ground (away from the press) in Syria:
"I have a guy working for me from Damascus. His mother and sisters are there now, and they talk every day by phone. I let this go because you have been on vacation, and didn’t want to bother you and E. This stuff is going to unroll as it will regardless, because Americans are disconnected from their government until they decide to unite and TTBO (throw the bastards out).
My guy told me that his family is now on a hill on the outskirts of the city, along with thousands of others. They are surrounded by “rebels”, and it is Syrian army that is protecting them at this point, and trying to get them out and away from the city. The “rebels” are composed of unknown people, mostly not Syrians and many of them that are Syrians are known jihadistas – end of the world types known as local nutjobs anyway. Looting is rampant, and everyone that has left their homes has had all their possessions stolen or burned – they have nothing.
Yes, there are Syrian troops firing into the city, but the resident Syrians are (mostly) not there anyway. The army has been moving them out so they can get at the “rebels”. Tariq told me that his sisters have seen the rebels murdering women and children for weeks, simply shooting anyone that doesn’t profess to wanting a jihad and to destroy the Assad regime. Men are not questioned but shot if they do not take up arms with the “rebels”.
Many men have taken up arms to avoid being shot when cornered by rebels. Many sneak away and try to flee at first opportunity. His family has been in a state of running and hiding for 4 weeks, calling him many times during the day. They are trying to get to the Lebanese or Turkish border. The hill they are on is Qudissah or something like that, but they were trying to get to Lebanon and got cut off by ”rebels”.
There are “rebel” strongholds in Lebanon from what they were telling him. The rebels all have radios – they are always talking to each other or someone via radio – so there is likely someone in charge of coordinating them somewhere, but this is no spontaneous uprising of rebels. Tariq literally spits when anyone tries to tell him these are “freedom fighters” and gets all unglued, so I had to tell the others to keep their politics to themselves in the shop.
Anyway, thought I would get this to you since you should be back by now. Tariq’s position is that this is actually a huge Middle East thing where the progressives (moderate folks who want business and civilization and a degree of freedom) are being coerced and made to embrace jihad by the not-so-fringe Muslim jihadistas.
As a method to get a regime toppled, this has ‘low hanging fruit’ all over it, because arming these types, bringing more in and then pouring a little religious zealotry gas on it meant instant ignition. Same thing could happen here with rabid Christian right types if things are framed correctly by those wishing it…
So here we are, watching craziness unfold that has been urged by our freedom loving government here in the USA, all in the name of – what?? I am so ready for things to melt down… Oilman2"

Obama Ban on Youth Farm Chores Part of Larger Power Grab

Dredging up Dickensian horrors of child labor, the Obama administration has ordered the Labor Department to apply child labor laws to family farms. The new rules would make it illegal for children to perform a large number of labor tasks that have been performed by farm families for centuries. Traditionally, adults and children alike helped with planting and harvesting in the spring and fall, but the federal government is now determined not only to make this a historical footnote, but a criminal offense.
photoChildren have worked with their families on farms for centuries. It is the reason there is now a “summer vacation” for school kids.
Under the rules, children under 18 would be prevented by the federal government from working “in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials” and prohibited “places of employment would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions.”
In addition to making it far more difficult for families to work their farms, the new rules will revoke the government’s approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA and replace them with a 90-hour federal government training course, the Daily Caller reports.
In other words, the federal government will forcibly insert itself in the business of teaching animal husbandry and crop management, disciplines traditionally passed on by families and local communities.
Government apparatchiks will now oversee the business of local farming the same way Stalin did when he collectivized farms and “socialized” production at gunpoint in the Soviet Union. Resistance by farmers and peasants to Stalin’s efforts resulted in the government cutting off food rations, which resulted in widespread famine (the “terror-famine in Ukraine” killed around 12 million people) and millions were sent to forced labor camps.
The Labor Department’s effort to further erode the family farm falls on the heels of an unconstitutional executive order Obama issued last year establishing so-called rural councils.
“According to this new executive order, the Obama administration plans to stick its itchy little fingers into just about every aspect of rural life,” the Economic Collapse Blog noted at the time. “One of the stated goals of the White House Rural Council is to do the following….”
Coordinate and increase the effectiveness of Federal engagement with rural stakeholders, including agricultural organizations, small businesses, education and training institutions, health-care providers, telecommunications services providers, research and land grant institutions, law enforcement, State, local, and tribal governments, and nongovernmental organizations regarding the needs of rural America.
Obama’s plan to make life miserable for family farmers coincides with an effort by the United Nations under Agenda 21. Section one of the executive order mentions “sustainable rural communities,” language right out of Agenda 21. (For more on the draconian aspects of Agenda 21 and the plan to roll back modern civilization under the aegis of “sustainability,” see Rosa Koire’s Behind the Green Mask: U.N. Agenda 21.)
The federal government has recently moved to clamp down on family farms. For instance, last year the Department of Transportation proposed new burdensome rules for farmers. Incidentally, DOT Secretary Ray LaHood holds a seat on the newly created White House Rural Council.
In Late May, the DOT proposed a rule change for farm equipment, and if it this allowed to take effect, it will place significant regulatory pressure on small farms and family farms all across America – costing them thousands of dollars and possibly forcing many of them out of business,” writes Mike Opelka. “The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), part of the Department of Transportation (DOT), wants new standards that would require all farmers and everyone on the farm to obtain a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) in order to operate any farming equipment. The agency is going to accomplish this by reclassifying all farm vehicles and implements as Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs).”
Late last year, House Republicans moved to prevent the EPA from further burdening farmers with a rule that would ban “farm dust.” Outrage in response to the proposed regulation came fast and furious and EPA boss Lisa Jackson was forced to back down as Democrats complained that the government was not targeting small family farms with the proposed regulation.
A concerted effort by the federal government to attack small family farms cannot be denied. Infowars.com has covered dozens of efforts, including the attack on Rawesome Foods in California, numerous efforts by the feds to attack raw milk and dairy farmers (including attacks by the FDA on Amish farmers), and a recent effort by the Department of Natural Resources in Michigan to destroy open-range pig farms.
In addition to attempting to micromanage – and run out of business – family farms through federal labor regulations, the government is trying to insert itself in the relationship between parents and their children.
The ongoing attacks on family farming are not merely misguided efforts by control freak bureaucrats. They are part of a larger “comprehensive plan of action” to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations to institute “sustainable development,” a philosophy designed to bring humanity under tight control of the global elite.
As George H. W. Bush said on September 11, 1990, the plan is “based entirely on social control mechanisms.” For the elite, controlling food – especially healthy and natural food produced by family farms – is a primary objective in their plan for global conquest.

Scrap Multiculturalism now!

Go the Dutch - but why wait until 2013?

The Netherlands, where six per cent of the population is now Muslim, is scrapping multiculturalism:
The Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands .

A new integration bill, which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, reads: "The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people. In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role.

With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society. The letter continues: "A more obligatory integration is justified because the government also demands that from its own citizens.
It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands ..

The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants. For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language, and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants who ignore         Dutch values or disobey Dutch law.  The government will also stop         offering special subsidies for Muslim immigrants because, according to Donner; "It is not the government's job to integrate immigrants." (How bloody true).

The government will introduce new legislation that outlaws forced marriages and will also impose tougher measures against Muslim immigrants who lower their chances of employment by the way they dress.
More specifically, the government will impose a ban on face-covering, Islamic burqas as of January 1, 2013.
Holland has done that whole liberal thing, and realized - maybe too late - that creating a nation of tribes will kill the nation itself.

The future of Australia , the UK and Canada may well be read here.

READERS NOTE: Muslim immigrants leave their countries of birth because of civil and political unrest "CREATED BY THE VERY NATURE OF THEIR CULTURE."

Countries like Holland, Canada, the UK, and Australia have an established way of life that actually works, so why embrace the unworkable? If Muslims do not wish to accept another culture, the answer is simple;
"STAY WHERE YOU ARE!!"

This gives a whole new meaning to the term; 'Dutch Courage' - Unfortunately Australian UK, Canadian and American  politicians don't have the ... guts to do the same. There's a whole lot of truth here!!!!
